(Boys & Girls Ages 8-18)
Cost: $535 resident / $380 commuter
Advanced Camps will be broken down into two groups. The younger group will focus more on the technical aspects of the game such as shooting, passing, receiving, dribbling, and moves. The older group will focus more on the tactical aspects of the game such as shape, movement off the ball, positioning, and combination play. Both groups will be exposed to all aspects of the game, i.e. game situations, small sided games, and a competitive environment.
The Goalkeeping Academy is run in conjunction with every OSU Soccer Camp and is available to those players currently playing goalkeeper or those who may be interested in playing. Goalkeepers of all ages and abilities are invited to attend. Goalkeepers will be put in training groups of similar age and ability in order to maximize learning potential. Goalkeepers will receive specialized Keeper training from the OSU Goalkeeper Coach, along with current and former Cowgirl Goalkeepers.
Goalkeepers will train together as goalkeepers in the morning sessions, working on proper techniques and tactics. Depending on the topic for the day, the goalkeepers will either stay as a group, to work on more techniques, or they will join their groups in order to put the newly learned skills into game like situations while getting the repetitions necessary to hone a particular skill. There is no substitute for playing the game, so being able to train in goal with the field players provides an unlimited learning environment. Being the specialized position that goalkeeping is, this is a great opportunity, and environment to receive the individual attention necessary to get the most out of a week of training.
